Every college must have its heart-the library. Shri G.K. and C.K. Bosamia Arts and Commerce College has a big, prosperous and grand library. That provides life to the education and cultural activities For the over all development of the student this library has literature, criticism, bio-graphies reference books, etc, there are 25,000 books and their cost is more than Rs. 10 lacs. Apart from it, the sources of knowledge like encyclopedia britannica, Bhagvad go mandal etc. make this library more valuable. The magazines in Gujarati language, national magazines, the magazines which are helpful to education and literature Total 45 magazines make this library prosperous. This library has the facility of a reading room’ where the students can read in their free periods.
Rules of the Library
(1)
Any student of this college can be the members of this library.
(2)
For being a member of this library the students should get an application form for the librarian free of charge.
(3)
For being the member of this library a duly filled-in form, fee receipt and identify card should be presented to the librarian.
(4)
For graduation level student only one and for post-graduation any two books will be issued. These books must be given back within 14 days. The books will be renewed if any other student does not need it.
(5)
The student who wants to read in the library must give his/her I-card to the librarian.
(6)
For using reference books, dictionaries, encyclopedia etc. the student must present his/her I-card to the librarian and those books can only be used in the library.
(7)
Timing of the Library
Graduation student: - 7:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.
Post graduation student: - 1:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.
Book – Bank
Shri G.K. and C.K. Bosamia Arts and Commerce College also gives facility of the book bank. In this facility, the new student, will be able to get almost all the books of their study. After eight days of acedamic term, students can apply for getting books by filling the form within the given period. With the submission of the form, the students must present their fee receipt. As the syllabus is revised there are limited number of sets of book so, only those whose application is received can avail this facility.
The purpose of this book bank is to help the students who are economically poor.
Under this arrangement, per student 35% depriciation charge is taken because every set (of books) costs from Rs. 600 to 1000. The book bank fee and the depriciation charges are collected from the beneficiary and from that money the books are bought and for this the receipt is given.
Network Resource Centre
From the year 2003-04 this college has started the Network Resource centre from special grants under the university grant commission. Any student or staff member can avail this facility of Internet service only for the educational purpose.
For availing this facility Mr. Manoj A.Vyas – Mr. K.H. Vadalia of computer section must be contacted. The timing for this service is from 12.00 noon to 1 p.m. and only in the presence of the proffessor this service will be availed.
